Guimaras-Iloilo Boatmen Shocked by Surprise Drug Test

The Panay News had some attention-grabbing news recently. Subjected to a shock were local boatmen in Guimaras, our island province. Scheduled at 9:00 am this past Tuesday meeting was a meeting for all motorboat crews at the Buenavista wharf. However, imagine their surprise when the boat teams discovered they had to submit their urine for a random drug test.

Asawa’s Plight: Medicus Iloilo City ER Responds

My asawa was in the front passenger seat of our Aurora Blue Ford Ranger suffering from an extreme abdominal pain attack. The Provincial Hospital in Guimaras, our home province, was unable to deal with the medical emergency. We sprinted toward the Jordan Wharf in Guimaras to catch a “special trip” nighttime pump boat ride to Iloilo City. My sister-in-law Alida was in the back seat.

THE Transportation Management and Traffic Regulation Office (TMTRO) nabbed at least 35 violators this past Monday, June 1, 2017 in Iloilo City. It was the first day cops were enforcing the new speed limit law in the “City of Love.” Iloilo Speeders Could Get 6-Month Jail Sentence.

It is about 420 kilometers (260 mi) south-west of Manila, and about 238 kilometers (148 mi) north-east of Puerto Princesa, Palawan’s capital. It’s known for its white-sand beaches, coral reefs and limestone cliffs.
