Don’t rely on Google Maps for directions in Iloilo City. We wasted an hour the other morning in Iloilo looking for a company that provided swimming pool equipment. My asawa and I were shopping in the big city and decided to look for Amici Water Systems Sales and Services, Iloilo. Our crew had begun digging our new swimming pool in the Philippines and Amici was listed as a place to purchase pool supplies.

Pretty pinays roam Raymen Resort in Guimaras, the island province we call home. What more could a crusty old expat who has lived in the Philippines almost six years desire? A beautiful asawa, a sunny day on the beach, a cold bottle of San Miguel Pale Pilsen and not a care in the world. Manggahan Festival 2014 Begins in April

Return to the Best Philippines Beach Resort in Guimaras

Raymen Beach Resort in Guimaras. Located in a stretch of white sand and turquoise waters called  Alibihod, I’ve covered visits to this Philippines resort in past posts. Made another visit to this pocket of paradise on Mother’s Day. My asawa and relatives were accompanied by the son of Jesus, Mike (seen in the next photo closing his eyes), our neighbor that delivers our fresh drinking water.

According to my asawa, Mike is our niece April’s  “suitor,” a term used about 100 years ago in America. Noy Noy, Mike’s cousin (sitting next to Mike on the pump boat), also lives next door and came along for the Sunday holiday.
