Kentucky Fried’s First Filipino Colonel

It was around 8:00 pm on a weeknight. Despite numerous power outages from our “service” provider, Guimelco, we miraculously had electricity that evening as I flipped the remote to Channel 2, ABS CBN. It was time for my asawa’s favorite program, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” As I steeled myself for a block of 10 minutes of commercials for Tide Detergent, multiple pain relievers from Unilever, and the same tired Selena Gomez Pantene ad, a new advertisement brightened our screen. The Blizzard That Hit Manila

Stopped at the Fairview SM MegaMall Wednesday while killing some time waiting for my appearance before the Board of Commissioners this past Friday morning at the Bureau of Immigration in Intramuros, Manila. Already had applied for my 13(a) Permanent Visa early Tuesday morning and after less than 30 minutes received my paperwork which informed me of the Friday appointment before the BOC. I'll have a complete rundown on my  (13a) Permanent Visa experience when the whole process is completed. My asawa and I roamed the multi-level mall last year when in Manila when she sponsored me for my temporary visa. This SM Mall is so much larger than the SM City Mall we always frequent in Iloilo, and we were delighted to spot a Dairy Queen kiosk on the second floor.  (Photo from Flickr)Thailand
