A tremendous thunderstorm rolled into Guimaras the other night pouring buckets of rain faster than a petrified shabu dealer seeking to evade the police. Lightning crackled in the air with booming thundering reverberating in the skies. A few of our eight canines leap into panic mode whenever they hear any thunder. Today’s post, “Prince’s Edgy Evening Escape” details one of our pup’s extreme reaction to any prolonged loud noises.
“Proper Pooch Pool Party Philippines” isn’t one of seven related American International Pictures beach party films from the Sixties. Former Mouseketeer, Annette Funicello, was my first crush. She starred in “Beach Blanket Bingo” along with teen idol Frankie Avalon. “Bingo” was the fifth and most well-known of the series. Annette initially appeared on “The Mickey Mouse Club” which was first televised from 1955 to 1959 by ABC.

Barangay cop killed over missing chicken: A tanod, barangay policeman, in Cuartero, Capiz was accused of stealing his neighbors’ chicken. The suspects? A father and son duo.
During a recent day tour in Bohol, my asawa and I visited the Chocolate Hills, a geological formation in the Bohol province of the Philippines. There are at least 1,260 hills but there may be as many as 1,776 hills spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers (20 sq mi). They are covered in green grass that turns brown (like chocolate) during the dry season, therefore the name.
I seriously doubt that many of my readers were collecting cow poop in the Philippines on Valentine’s Day. I wonder how many people all across America were doing the same. Perhaps some couples were celebrating Cupid’s Day by waiting in line for an hour (or more) at their neighborhood Olive Garden or Outback restaurant, stomachs growling, perhaps wishing they were alongside Captain Tom picking up poop. Then again, maybe not.
The Filipino Savings Account: Carabaos, Cows & Chickens. You could throw pigs into that mix, also.
Living in “paradise,” believe it or not, is not always the utopia you might think it is. After over six years of living in the Philippines I thought it would be a good time to compile my “Top 10 Stress-Busters for Living in the Philippines.”
Guimaras Wonders Farm: Integrated Agro-Ecotourism Destination was the latest stop in my asawa’s search for new flowers and plants. My wife is in the initial states of a landscaping project at our new home in the Philippines and needs some fresh greenery for a batch of pottery we have ordered.
