Arrested on March 17, 2020 by Immigration agents was 50-year-old Kuwaiti Faisal Abdullah Almansour. The Kuwaiti scofflaw had been living in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental. The Kuwaiti arrived in the Philippines on June 12, 2012. Almansour has never renewed his tourist visa. Therefore, he has been staying in the Philippines illegally for over seven years. Moreover, his neighbors have tagged the man as a troublemaker. Hence, today’s post “Overstaying Kuwaiti Trouble Maker Arrested in Mindanao.”
Here are some of the immigration laws the Kuwaiti has violated:
- First of all, the aforementioned failure to renew his tourist visa. A tourist visa can renewed up to three years. There is no record of him ever applying for an extension.
- He’s never left the country. If Almansour had left the Philippines and re-entered, he could have been granted a new tourist visa.
- There’s no record of the Kuwaiti ever converting his tourist visa to another type of visa such as a Permanent Resident Visa (if he was married to a Filipina.)
- Furthermore, his Kuwait passport had expired two years ago. Philippine immigration law mandates all foreigners to have a valid and updated passport.
