Mambukal Resort 7th Waterfalls Challenge

The final and seventh waterfall of Mambukal in Murcia, Negros Occidental, is located 30 minutes away from the sixth one. Our group of eight explorers from Guimaras were resting at a sari sari store located at #6. While deciding whether or not to continue our journey, my wife, along with some of our friends, took a dip in the sixth waterfall’s pool. Would we take the Mambukal Resort 7th Waterfalls Challenge?

Drinking My Buko Juice

I was content to sit my fat kano butt on a bench and sip on my coconut juice.

Frankly, I don’t care for the taste of coconut, buko juice, but I was thirsty. Above all, I wanted to show my loving asawa, seen on the right, that I could occasionally drink something healthy.

First of all, I had no clue as to what was transpiring in the pool below as I continued to consume my healthy juice. I was reviewing the following picture on my Sony CyberShot when I realized what was happening down below.

Our guide knew all the “trick shot” points on the waterfalls’ path

My Wife’s Daring Dive: Mambukal Falls Murcia

Consequently, I didn’t know my fearless wife was getting ready to jump over 30 feet into the pool! Despite being near her mid-Fifties, my asawa dived into the pool not once, but twice!

Thankfully my wife emerged from both daring dives unscathed. If memory serves me correctly, I believe the guide told my better half that the water was around 14 or 15 feet deep.

My daredevil partner gets ready to dive.

She jumps!

Hats off to my brave asawa. As one of our male friends on the trip remarked: “She’s got balls!”

Almost more daring, if not more so, is the fact that my wife has put up with me for almost 19 years.

Now, that my friends, takes some unbelievable bravery.

Mambukal Resort #7 Waterfalls Challenge

However, after my spouse’s spectacular splash, we all gathered at our rest site. Would we go onward and upwards another 30 minutes to the final falls, #7?

The guide helped us make our decision. He already had a transport vehicle ready to take us back to the Mambukal Resort. Furthermore, we were already tired and decided it would be wiser to end our journey at Waterfall #6.

And so we did.
