Looking for a gorgeous Philippines resort? Guimaras is your place. While waiting at the Jordan Wharf for Murray to arrive from Iloilo City this past Sunday, I was checking out the various travel brochures the official greeter at the Jordan Wharf had given me. There are several tropical beach locations in our rural province with beautiful white sand and clear, turquoise waters. If you're looking for a place to relax and unwind and enjoy the full benefits of Filipino Time, a journey to our slice of paradise in Western Visayas is highly recommended. Been here over two years and thanks to some recent visitors such as Alan and Mike, and now my new mate, Murray from New Zealand, my asawa and I have been exploring more of our island province, known the world over for its sweet mangoes.
Let me take a moment to explain our visitor policy. Recently, while my wife and I were in Iloilo City doing our monthly shopping, we returned home to discover we had missed some fans of my website that had come to our tropical beach province to visit. I had no advance notice from this group and was not feeling well at the time, so I did not call the land line number they had left with my brother-in-law. I would have probably sent a text message if a cell number would have been left, but while I am extremely grateful for the supporters of this site, I honestly do not welcome "surprise" or unannounced visits. I didn't back in the States, and I don't welcome them in the Philippines.
I'm concerned that the Iloilo duo were able to track our location from information I have previously posted (Alan also pointed this out to me), and I will be careful in publishing any further posts that deal with our specific location. While we certainly don't live in a luxurious Philippines resort, we feel fairly secure in our humble home and value our privacy. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting expats like Murray (more on that visit soon), Paul in Iloilo and Jeff (I traveled to Iloilo City to meet them, per their invitation), and have enjoyed their overwhelming hospitality. Also had the pleasure recently of meeting Alan and Mike from Hawaii (more on them later), and like Paul and Jeff, they are such a generous bunch, paying for all the beach fees, transportation, food and bottles of San Miguel Pale Pilsen and Tanduay Ice for which I am extremely grateful.
So if you find yourself planning a trip to a splendid Philippines resort in Guimaras and would like to visit, please use the "ABOUT/CONTACT" form located at the top of this page. I would be more than happy to chat and visit with you. I don't charge for any advice or any local tours of Guimaras, but please note that I'm not above accepting a free meal or cold bottles of my favorite beverages. So if you're looking for a tropical beach resort and want to hang out with an aging American expat (The Sainted Patient Wife also accompanies me, too) than just drop me a line. I always appreciate a break from my mother-in-law, The Feared Giant Lizard Killer, and enjoy good company. And did I mention I like cold beer?
