"The Compound", in beautiful San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras province, Philippines, is finally getting a fresh outside coat of paint. I have posted the obligatory "before" and "after" pictures. And yes, we go for the bright and gaudy colors! Mensha Yellow with Song of Green accents.

It’s Raining Pineapples!
It's raining pineapples in the Philippines! Well, it seemed like it. My father-in-law had one of the relatives deliver seven fresh pineapples from his farm which is literally in the middle of the jungle about a half hour's jeepney ride from "The Compound." One can pay anywhere from 50 cents or one US dollar each for fresh pineapple (depending on the size) at our local markets, and along with the famous Guimaras sweet mangoes, one of my favorite fruits to eat in the Philippines.
