“10 Best Places to Visit in the Philippines” consists of the results of over 30 websites that I scrutinized using four different search engines. The compilation of this Top Ten List looked at other websites and their choices for the best places to visit in the archipelago.  More weight was given for picks that finished first, second and third. Each destination listed was given at least one vote.  Only the Top Ten picks of each website were given consideration. The websites I covered were everything from CNN to USA Today along with international and local publications.

“How Safe is Boracay?” We’re planning a return trip to the “best island” in the world, according to Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The Philippine National Police, along with local law enforcement officials, have beefed up security of this popular tourist destination. 50,000 visitors are expected this Holy Week alone. With the recent terrorist attack on the island resort of Bohol by Abu Sayyaf, one has to question if visiting Boracay at this time is wise.

Palawan Beats Boracay as “World’s Best Island”

Palawan led the Top Ten Islands list as determined by  Travel + Leisure Magazine’sWorld’s Best Awards.”  Boracay made it to the Top Ten for the third year in a row but the famous Philippine resort lost its top spot to Palawan, which was not even in the 2012 list, according to a report in GMA News Online.
