Simple Man. Simple Life.

American expat in the Philippines. A Simple Man. A Simple Life. No one has threatened to kill me recently. I’ve only had to yell at one jeepney operator blocking our main street in downtown San Miguel, Guimaras, the other day. No trips to nearby Iloilo City in about a month. I wish I could report more exciting events but I can’t.

While my father-in-law continues to torment our Belgian Shepard, “Killer,” in the wee hours, there’s not been much to write about. My father-in-law has Alzheimer’s and occasionally shouts at the top of his lungs starting around midnight.  Killer goes to Lolo’s (Grandpa’s) window and barks. Lolo can keep this up for hours unlike other parts of his anatomy.

Well, there is that new book I’ve recently published, “Lose 50 Pounds Fast without any Exercise,” but it has nothing to do with the Philippines. The book details how I dropped over 50 pounds in a span of 10 weeks several years ago while still living in the States.

I’ve been busy writing more E-books and currently am working on a new companion guide to my best seller, “The Philippines Expat Advisor.”

I’ll have more info on the new companion guide in the future.

My lovely asawa is in our dirty kitchen preparing pork chops for lunch. Though my spouse is recovering from a recent bout from gastritis she lovingly prepares meals for everyone even though she can’t eat any pork yet.

However, my better half no longer has to take any daily maintenance medicine and thankfully is feeling much better.

I’m recovering from a bout with the flu and will be making a short walk this coming Sunday to visit an Aussie expat friend that lives nearby. The Aussie is celebrating a birthday and I’m on the invitation list.  I haven’t had a San Miguel Pale Pilsen in over a week and only get together with fellow foreigners every other week.

You could call me a hermit. You could call me a recluse. Just never call me late for supper (sure, that’s an old line but remember I’m a crusty old expat.)

So all is well in our little slice of “paradise” we call Guimaras. A simple man. A simple life.
