My Twin Nieces Are Searching for Single Guys on Cherry Blossoms
My 19-year-old twin nieces, April and Michelle, have been searching for single guys on the Cherry Blossoms dating website. Whenever I get off the computer sometime in the late afternoon, I always ask them if they want to use the computer. It's like asking a crackhead if they want more crack. Of course they do!
They've got to check out the latest useless chatter on Facebook, look at their email, and see if they have any messages from single guys on Cherry Blossoms .
So I go into the kitchen to ask April, who is preparing a vegetable dish for lunch, some questions about her Cherry Blossoms experience. Here's some of that conversation:
- "So how's your chatting on Cherry Blossoms going?" I ask.
- "Fine," was April's reply.
- "How many guys have you been chatting with?" I inquire.
- "Five guys the other night," my niece replied.
- "What countries are they from?" I ask.
- "The United States and Britain," was her answer.
- "Only those countries?" I query.
- "Maryland," she answered.
- "Maryland is a state IN the United States," I informed her. "What other country?"
- "California," she answered.
- "California is a state, too, in America. No other countries?"
- "No," she responded.
- "How old are these guys?" as I continue my grilling.
- "41, 42, 44, in their forties," she said.
- "What do they ask you? I wonder.
- "How old I am? Where do I work? Do I have a webcam?" is her reply.
- "Did you tell them your Dad (the girls call me "Dad") is too cheap to buy a webcam? I said. "If they don't want to chat with you, that's too bad. I'm not buying one."
She doesn't reply so I end my interrogation. It's getting too hot in the kitchen. I wander back to my fan stationed at my computer desk. April's twin sister, Michelle, is at her computer class, so I guess my inquisition will continue when she comes home. Hopefully her sister will not alert her to the fact that I'll be doing some intensive quizzing about Cherry Blossoms so I don't get some prepared answers.
Michelle gets home. She's only been chatting with two guys. One from Canada and one from the United States. One guy is 43 and the other is in his fifties. They don't mind if she doesn't have a web cam. That's about all the details I could pry from her. But all in all, it sounds like the girls have had a positive experience with the dating website and that's good to hear.
April was back on the computer early in the afternoon as I quit "work" early. Along with sister Michelle, they were online about five hours until I finally booted them off at 6 pm. It was dinner time. Michelle had had been on the Internet before her April doing "homework." When I went into my room to get something, I saw she was on Cherry Blossoms.
"Oh, I see you're doing homework on Cherry Blossoms" I said in a sarcastic tone.
"I am, Dad, I am. I'm just checking to see if I have any new messages first," she replied.
"Sure, you are," but it was time for me to eat and catch the Solar News 6 pm report on "Talk TV."

The show is done mainly in English and to be honest, I don't mind watching the lovely Pia Hontiveros do the news. She's smart and asks some tough questions in her interviews, but not as tough as when I interrogate my two nieces!
Well neither has contacted me on CB, which possibly shows good taste on their part. Actually I have my profile set up so that the youngest who can contact me is 20 – so maybe next year
Now that I re-read my comment I just want to be clear that I was kidding here.
Well Dave if they read your blogs they should get an idea of what kind of guys they could run into, lol.
At least they have the benefit of a ‘screener’ on their end. Most girls have no idea what type of guy they are hooking up with. we have seen a few girls arrive here over the years only to discover later that they are living with a real loser. I can picture the twins on CB with Dave standing by their side with shotgun in hand
Meriam and I met on Cherry Blossoms… Some of the guys on CB are nice and others are just looking for a sex tour… Keep a close eye on the guys Dave…
Maybe you’re just too good looking for them, Dave W., and they’re intimidated (and yep, they’re still only 19 yet.)

That’s a good point, Mark G. I don’t think they read it very often, they’re too busy chatting on FB and CB. And April is starting work a week earlier than planned at SM City, she will begin orientation on the 24th. Michelle goes in for her second interview at SPI Global on Monday afternoon. Things are looking up! At least the kids will be able to chip in and buy some of their own food and actually have some spending money.
Plus, Randy, I have a secret weapon. All I have to do is call in my asawa. I think the twins are more frightened of her than they are of me.
Dave, you are actually hurting their chances a bit on finding a nice guy because many guys will not chat with someone that does NOT use a cam. Why? Because the guy could be actually talking to another guy or a woman that is NOTHING like her profile on CB.
In fact, I have become a pretty darn good matchmaker over the years with many friends and the number one rule is: Make sure they turn the cam on.
So you might want to reconsider and help them get a decent cam, they do not cost much!!!
As far as my filipina friends that are looking for a nice guy the number one rule is this: If they ask you to take your clothes off or focus on sex get rid of them. Nothing wrong with that later when you have a real relationship but not initially at all.
Help your nieces Dave! They need a cam. None of my single friends would EVER chat with them without one.
You bet I am, Gary. I always quiz the girls on who’re they’re chatting with and monitor them. There’s good guys and morons, just like every dating website has, I’m sure. Glad to hear Meriam and you met on Cherry Blossoms. I think it’s a first class operation.
Cant’ get one yet, Todd. Our refrigerator broke down and I’m waiting on my first commission from Cherry Blossoms to buy a new one. The affiliate dept. in CB is backed up on sending the commissions out. Our freezer doesn’t freeze and food spoils in the main section of the fridge. I realize I might be hurting my nieces’ chances of meeting someone right now and I understand the reasoning behind why some decent guys might want to chat on the webcam, but it’s not in the works right now. Plus, my piece of crap Epson printer that I bought here has already crapped out and I have to replace that. There’s always something. But I’ll definitely keep the webcam in mind.
I hope you wasn’t using ice pick to quickly defrost the freezer part of refrigerator like most filipinos. Most refrigators I have seen built in Philippines is not auto defrost. Check fan and see if it is working inside to circulate air between freezer and refrigerator. It could just need to be shut down and defrosted.
Nope, we don’t use an ice pick, George, to defrost it. I DO see some ice build in the vents inside the freezer and I’ll try your tip. I’ll check the fan and then shut it down. See what happens. Thanks much.
Dave… Your camera should work as a web cam… Just need the software to run it.

Didn’t know that about the camera, Gary, thanks, I’ll have to check that out.
We’ve got the fridge unplugged now and letting it completely defrost. I have adjusted the temps in the freezer and the main section before to colder levels and will try adjusting them to lower levels after we plug it back in again. Just have a few things in the freezer. My nieces and nephew are running over to the local sari sari store to buy those P2 pesos bags of ice. I’m sure they will be glad when the fridge gets fixed or when we buy a new one.
Make sure there is no dust build up on the coils.
They can also cam at a internet cafe. If either party was truly interested they would want to cam and find a way to do so. The nieces don’t seem to be chatting with anyone that has caught their interest.

Well, Steve, since April will be working soon she’ll have the option to go to an internet cafe if she likes since she’ll have extra spending now. The local SM Mall she will be working at has a net cafe (and what mall here doesn’t?) She can chat on the cam to her heart’s delight on her own dime.

Sorry to hear about your fridge. It seems like everything goes wrong at the same time. Once you start getting your SS, you will always have more than enough money to take care of any problem. April and Michelle can be very choosy who they meet on CB, since they are only 19. They should not be in a hurry. Hope you are able to get your new fridge soon. Take care and stay safe
Thanks, PapaDuck. The girls are taking their time searching on Cherry Blossoms and said they’re having fun, so that’s all that matters. Like you say, they’re only 19. Sales are coming in for the new E-book so hope to have that refrigerator soon. Once CB kicks in my commission check for last month we’ll be headed over to Vic’s Imperial Appliances to check on what kind of deal we can get.

It’s confession time. I prepared and ran 3 Craigslist ads for my asawa cousins. The ads were posted on Craigslist Cebu (the Manila list has two many ads leaning to sexual stuff). Two are happily married to US citizens and are living in California and Washington State. The third was immature and it didn’t work out. The advantages of Craigslist is that it’s free.
Also, I am living in Maryland. If the one guy from Maryland is serious with April, I would be happy to meet and talk with him.
Thanks for the offer, Jack. I’ve talked to April about the “Maryland” guy. They seem to chat quite often. If things progress, I’m might have to take you up on that offer. Both of my nieces seem to have met some nice guys on Cherry Blossoms as have some of my readers. As long as the guys (and ladies) find some quality people, that’s all that matters. But I do appreciate the guys that have signed up for CB through my website ad and more and more are signing up every day.

Hopefully I find someone! I didn’t have much luck on FilipinaCupid, just a bunch of girls asking for money and trying to get me to join cam sites.

I’ll try to keep you updated. So far I’ve noticed I get a lot of emails from girls that are older than me 27-35 range. I’m interested in girls that are younger than me or same age. But, I gave up on American girls a long time ago. I met a nice filipina girl a few weeks ago in Vegas and she turned me on to this whole idea of dating someone from another country. She was trying to set me up with her cousin in Ph, but I never got an email from her.
If I’m able to meet a few nice girls that I think are legit (or one I really like) I think I will try to visit there this year or early next year.
Also, they might cut you a check early, if you ask, since it’s only 5 cents.
My Dad lives in Vegas, Dustin, and he sees a lot of Filipinas working there. He always tells them his son is married to a Filipina and that we are living in the Philippines. Good luck on your search. I’m sure you’ll find a nice girl on CB and thanks again for signing up.
